Students from Joachim Krchovski Elementary School in Kriva Palanka won the first prize at the XXVIII International Morning Star Art Festival, held this weekend in Bansko, Bulgaria.
The festival brought together about 1,500 young virtuosos from Ukraine, Greece, Spain, Macedonia and Bulgaria, who demonstrated their talent in music, theater, dance, acrobatics and photography over five days.
The primary school “Joakim Krchovski, as one of the participants in the festival presented himself with forty students from third to ninth grade. School Orchestra at the Primary School "Joakim Krchovski" - Kriva Palanka under the baton of prof. Larisa Julina-Mitovski, together with the school choir under the mentorship of prof. Aleksandar Trencovski and folklore group under the mentorship of prof. Maria Smiljkov won the prestigious first prize at this renowned art festival.
-We started with a compilation of three musical performances, chorus singing and musical instrumentation. The school's orchestra and choir performed "Ode to Joy" by Ludwig van Beethoven, as well as "Biljana Canvas" with choreography by a small dance group. Different generations of students in the category of vocal-instrumental music presented themselves, where we won the first place, said music education professor Larisa Julina –Mitovski.
-This is our first joint collaboration as a mentor and has proved very successful. The students had the opportunity to socialize and present themselves in this format, and we share the satisfaction of the success they have achieved, as our work is internationally recognized. We are especially proud that the audience had the opportunity to enjoy the singing of the original folk composition "Biljana canvas whit" for which the young talents from Kriva Palanka prepared and appropriate stage and artistic choreography, and the strong impression they left was awarded with prestige.
